Sword fragment; part of a hoard of three sword fragments
A hoard of three fragments from a Bronze Age sword, they are around 3000 years ago. The sword was deliberately broken and these fragments buried. We can only speculate as to why. The sword could have been broken up for recycling, however, it is possible that this weapon was associated with a powerful person and the sword was broken up on their death.
