Glass plate slide of Blackbury Castle, women diggers on tea break
Blackbury Castle is an Iron Age hillfort in east Devon. Parts of the site were excavated by the Devon Archaeological Exploration Society in the 1950s. This is one of a series of photographic images recording their work between 1952-1954 and shows a group of volunteer diggers resting from their work during a tea break.
