Shafthole implement
This perforated stone axe dates from the Late Neolithic to Early Bronze Age and was found at Langtree in Devon. A wooden stick would have been placed into the hole and the tool would have been used in a similar way to a modern axe. In this case the hole through the axe has not been completed.
