Magic Lantern Slide: Person sitting at bank of river
This photograph by Alfred Oliver Rowden is untitled, but likely shows a river near the ancient site of Babylon. Rowden was in Mesopotamia during the First World War and was not sent home until 1919 or 1920. He visited several archaeological and historical sites and photographed them to record his experiences.
