Magic Lantern Slide: View of archaeological site [Babylon]
This photograph by Alfred Oliver Rowden shows an archaeological site, presumably Babylon in Iraq. Rowden was in Mesopotamia during the First World War and was not sent home until 1919 or 1920. He visited several archaeological and historical sites and photographed them to record his experiences.
