Magic Lantern Slide: We jamb in the Narrows, River Tigris
This photograph by Alfred Rowden shows a scene on the river Tigris in which the boat has become stuck. Rowden was in Mesopotamia during the First World War and was not sent home until 1919 or 1920. He photographed scenes like this to record his experiences.
