Magic Lantern Slide: Kurmah, Confluence Tigris and Euphrates
This photograph by Alfred Rowden shows the confluence of the rivers Tigris and Euphrates at Kurmah. Rowden was in Mesopotamia during the First World War and was not sent home until 1919 or 1920. He photographed scenes like this to record his experiences.
