Magic Lantern Slide: Unidentified ruined building
This photograph by Alfred Rowden shows a ruined building somewhere in modern day Iraq. Rowden was in Mesopotamia during the First World War and was not sent home until 1919 or 1920. He visited several archaeological and historical sites and photographed them to record his experiences.
