Magic Lantern Slide: Group of four men standing by railway wagons

This photograph by Alfred Oliver Rowden shows a group of men posing for the camera next to waggons on the railway. Rowden was in Mesopotamia during the First World War and was not sent home until 1919 or 1920. He photographed daily scenes like this to record his experiences, and was especially interested in local people and the clothing they wore.
