Pendant amulet
This is a pyramidal pendant made from chalcedony with a suspension hole at the top. The shape of the pendant is unusual, and it may have been made as a stamp or seal and later re-cut and engraved for its present use.
The amulet is double-sided. One one side is a man standing with his left arm raised, and a cloak is draped over his right shoulder which falls over his bent right arm. On the other side is a man standing on one leg, perhaps dancing or sitting. He rests his elbow on the other leg which is raised and bent at the knee. It is difficult to identify how old the amulet is as it shows influences from a mixture of cultures, but it is thought to be ancient Greek with Persian influence.
