Amulet of Taweret
This amulet represents the ancient Egyptian deity Taweret. She is in the form of a hippopotamus and wearing plumes and disc crown on her head. she protected women during pregnancy and childbirth.
It belonged to Lieutenant Colonel Montague who collected over 800 classical archaeological objects, which he bequeathed to the museum on his death.
