Pocket

This pocket is made of cream linen and embroidered in wool. Ladies gowns did not have pockets sewn into them during the 18th century. Separate pockets were used that could be worn either singly or as a pair. This one has tapes at the top to tie around the waist. Pockets like this were worn under the petticoat.
