Edward VIII coronation spoon

Commemorative spoon made for King Edward VIII’s coronation in 1937. However, in 1936 Edward chose to follow his heart and marry divorcée Wallis Simpson rather than his duty to the throne. Scandal ensued and Edward abdicated passing the throne to his brother who became King George VI.
