Basket

A flat-based, straight-sided, rectangular basket. The base is red cedar bark strips in plain weave. The base strips are each split into two to form the verticals for the sides. The sides are also in plain weave using alternative wide and narrow weavers. two rows of single-pair twining in sedge form the rim edge.

This was collected by Edgar Dewdney in the late 19th/ early 20th century. Dewdney’s wife bequeathed the item to RAMM in 1927.
