Basket

A flat-based rectangular, straight-sided basket. The base is of cedar bark checker-weave with one outer row of single-pair twining. The cedar bark strips are then split and turned vertically for the sides. The sides are in plain weave with two pattern bands near the base and just above the mid-line, of three green strips.

This was collected by Edgar Dewdney in the late 19th/ early 20th century. Dewdney’s wife bequeathed the item to RAMM in 1927.
